NAWIC’s 2023 - 2024 Theme
We are the keys to opening the doors to opportunities for the continued success of women in the construction industry. We are the keys to education, we are the keys to leadership, we are the keys to opportunities, WE are the keys to the future of Women in Construction.
NAWIC Supports Women
to take advantage of the opportunities in construction. Whether you want to embark on a new career, establish a networking base, be a mentor/mentee, make a difference in your community, continue your education, or invest in great friendships, NAWIC offers a variety of opportunities — large and small.
Career
Members of NAWIC are business owners and managers, executives, subcontractors, accountants, estimators, tradeswomen, attorneys, architects, and engineers.
Chapter meetings, national conventions, and regional conferences provide opportunities to build a strong communication network for developing and broadening valuable business contacts.
Education
NAWIC Detroit is one of the top-contributing Chapters for the NAWIC Education Foundation (NEF) scholarships for college and skilled trades education.
NEF also offers courses and certifications in the fundamentals of construction terminology, processes, procedures, and technology that provide a strong, thorough overview of the industry.
Community
We love introducing students - Kindergarten through college - to construction careers. Our annual Block Kids competition gives K-6 students an opportunity to be innovative and creative while solving a construction-related problem. The winner can compete regionally and nationally.
